Salary: $9,487 - $11,532 monthly

THE POSITION: Under administrative direction maintains official city records; attends all City Council meetings; conducts municipal elections; acts as office manager; supervises clerical staff; plans, organizes and directs all functions of the City Finance Department, including accounting, fiscal planning, payroll, revenue collection and debt management.

QUALIFICATIONS: Education and Experience: Knowledge of fund accounting, familiarity with municipal or government accounting and possession of a CPA is highly desirable. A background of education and experience equivalent to graduation from an accredited university with major course work in accounting, finance or related field. Minimum five years of management and administrative experience within a finance or related field. Knowledge and Abilities: Knowledge of applicable federal, state and local laws, election laws and procedures. Modern office methods, procedures, filing systems and equipment. Principles and practices of financial administration, financial record keeping, accounting procedures, budgeting, auditing, and data processing applications pertinent to municipal finance. Principles and practices of municipal organization, administration and personnel management. Principles of supervision and training. Physical requirements. Applicants considered for employment must satisfactorily pass a physical examination process. Candidates will be examined by a physician designated by the City, at City expense, and are cautioned not to quit or give notice to present employers until they qualify on the medical examination. Other requirements. Possession of a valid California Drivers License at time of employment and live within a 35 mile radius of Ripon City Hall.

BENEFITS: Health and Dental Insurance - the City provides full medical, dental and vision benefits to all full time employees and their dependents. Life insurance, long term disability and long term care are also provided for full time employees. Retirement - the City participates in both Social Security and a “Money Purchase Pension Plan” with the City contributing 15%. Vacation - 10 days vacation at 1 year of service, 15 days at 4 years, 20 days at 14 years, 25 days at 25 years. Holidays - 13 paid holidays per year (included birthday and 3 floating days.) Sick leave - 8 hours of sick leave are earned per month with unlimited accumulation, and 100% credit for unused sick leave upon retirement.
