Now that PEPRA has passed, many of us are trying to interpret what it actually means to our organizations. We have attended webinars and read fact sheets and summaries in order to understand how the new pension rules will work. But a number of practical questions remain as we begin to work through the process.
But never fear - help is on the way! Your CSMFO career development committee has assembled a unique question and answer session for finance professionals and their local government team members to ask questions and clarify practical issues about implementation. The panelists include the Chief Actuary from CalPERS and the two legislative consultants who drafted the legislation, along with a respected Human Resources Director. There will not be formal presentations from the panel. Instead, your "real life" questions will be addressed.
In order to make this as meaningful as possible, we would like to have your questions in advance to assist the panelists in providing thorough answers. Please send your questions in advance (preferably by Tuesday, November 6) to Mary Bradley, Senior Advisor Career Development Committee (mbradley@fremont.gov).
Note: This is a Q&A session only. There will not be formal presentations or PPTs from the panel. Many presentations and webinars are occurring elsewhere. This is a unique opportunity for finance professionals and their local government team members to ask questions and clarify practical issues about implementation. So, be sure to send in your questions. Since this is a teleconference, it does not qualify for CPE credits.
Enjoy the many ways that CSMFO supports the profession.
