Speaker: GEOFFREY KISCHUK, Principal of Total Compensation Systems, Inc. (TCS)
Topic: GASB 45: "The Sophomore Slump -- Actuarial & Accounting Issues After Implementation"
Geoffrey Kischuk specializes in health actuarial services for California Public Employers. Mr. Kischuk is regarded as one of the foremost experts on GASB 43 and 45. He has performed GASB 45 compliant retiree health valuations for almost 500 California public agencies. Because of his long experience in this area, GASB sought his input while developing GASB 43 and 45. He has assisted state regulators in developing policies and procedures related to GASB 45 accounting. He has given dozens of seminars on GASB 43 and 45 as well as hundreds of presentations to governing boards and employee groups.
Prior to working for TCS, Mr. Kischuk was Vice President of Transamerica Life Companies in charge of all actuarial, underwriting and finance for group health operations nationwide. Prior to that, Mr. Kischuk had financial responsibility for Prudential’s western group operations.
