The City of Salinas (pop. 161,042) is the 34th largest city in California and the largest city in beautiful Monterey County. The City is seeking a seasoned Accounting Manager who brings a strong, professional accounting background.

The Accounting Manager is a senior management level position reporting directly to the Assistant Finance Director. The incumbent will work collaboratively with all members of the department, City, various boards, city council, and other regulatory agencies in order to successfully manage grants, prepare financial reports, supervise staff, assist with budget development and manage various City investments.

Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s Degree in a related field, and have four years of progressively responsible experience in accounting, budgeting, financial and supervisory/lead experience. A valid California Driver’s License at time of appointment is required.

The monthly salary range is $6,877 - $8,778 with a competitive benefit package that includes cash-out benefits and a 2.5% salary increase effective January 2019.
