The City of Pittsburg in California seeks a FINANCIAL ANALYST for the Finance Department.
The Financial Analyst performs routine to moderately complex professional financial analytical work in a variety of areas such as accounting, budget, debt financing and revenue collection; makes recommendations on the basis of completed studies and analysis; and undertakes assignments and projects concerned with the development, improvement and/or implementation of financial functions, practices, and services. The Financial Analyst must be capable of planning, organizing, and implementing assigned projects from inception to completion, and may exercise technical and functional supervision over clerical and/or technical staff as assigned and/or on a project by project basis. - Leadership experience that included motivating, mentoring, and managing staff
- Excellent written/oral communication and customer service skills
- Flexible and adaptable to change; able to prioritize and efficiently manage multiple assignments for self
- Possess exceptional management and organizational abilities to adhere to strict deadlines
- Prior governmental accounting/budgeting is desirable but not required

The Finance Department is responsible for accounting operations, payroll, utility billing, budget, financial reporting, debt issuance and management, risk management programs and investments for all of the City departments and agencies within the framework of City policies and procedures. Education: A bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics, public administration, business administration, or a related field.
Experience: Three (3) years of professional level experience in finance, budgeting, or accounting.
License/Certificate: Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid Class C California driver's license.
Other Requirements: Physically and mentally capable of performing the functions of the job, including but not limited to those summarized in Typical Tasks.
