The City of Coachella, located at the eastern edge of the world-famous Coachella Valley and within Riverside County, covers 32 square miles, serves over 45,000 residents, and is 130 miles east of Los Angeles.  Incorporated in 1946, the City has 72 full time employees and owns and operates its own Water Authority and Sanitary District.  Employees enjoy excellent benefits and a 4/10 work schedule.

The City is seeking an experienced professional in municipal government finance.  The ideal candidate will have a positive "can do" attitude, a commitment to a high quality and accurate work product, and the proven ability to lead. This position plans, organizes, manages, and provides administrative direction and oversight for all functions and activities of the Finance Department, including finance, treasury, accounting, purchasing, billing, customer service and code enforcement and compliance; directs and administers the fiscal operations and activities of the City, which include budgeting, investments, financial transaction processing, record keeping and reporting, payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, utility billing and business licensing.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:  Equivalent to graduation from accredited four-year college or university with major coursework in finance, accounting, economics, business or public administration, or a related field and seven years of management and/or administrative experience in municipal finance and accounting, including five years of supervisory experience.  A Master's degree in related field is highly desirable.  Certification as a Certified Public Accountant in the State of California is highly desirable.  Valid California class C driver's license with satisfactory driving record and automobile insurance.
