Marin Municipal Water District is currently recruiting for a Finance Director / Treasurer to provide administrative oversight and policy direction to the Finance, Customer Service, and Information Technology departments. The District has over 240 full-time employees and a combined annual operating and capital budget of $112 million for FY2019. Reporting directly to the General Manager, this senior management position is responsible for developing and administering the District's fiscal policies and budget, making periodic financial reports to the Board of Directors, and preparing and presenting proposals to the Board of Directors regarding revenue and associated rates. The Finance Director / Treasurer has three managers that oversee a total of 46 staff working in the areas of Financial Services, Customer Service, and Information Technology. Ideally, the successful candidate will also have experience in the area of debt financing, bond issuance, and debt management as well as being comfortable in advising District leadership about bond ratings and funding strategies, often in a public forum.

Requires a Bachelor’s degree and 10 years of increasingly responsible experience in administering the financial business operations of a public or private organization with 5 years of experience managing professional and technical staff. Possession of a CPA certificate is not required, but may be a plus.

Annual salary range for this position is $187,440 to $227,868 DOQ (with an expected 2 to 3% salary adjustment starting July 1, 2020). The District offers an excellent benefits package including CalPERS retirement.
